The challenge: bringing infinite collaboration to life
Miro, renowned for their collaboration software, experienced explosive growth during the pandemic. To better support both new and existing business users with creative and insightful content, they decided to build a large-scale video studio in their new Amsterdam headquarters. And we were thrilled to help make it happen.

Miro’s software is built around an expansive, blank canvas where teams can collaborate seamlessly. It only made sense to reflect this same design philosophy in their video studio. The challenge? Creating a space that conveys the feeling of an infinite canvas, all while working within the constraints of limited space and strict construction requirements.

The infinite wall (cyclorama)
To achieve the sense of boundless space, we constructed a large curved wall, also known as an infinity wall or cyclorama. This wall is rounded on three sides, creating the illusion of endless space. It allows people and objects to appear as though they’re floating in the room, with no visible edges or corners in sight.

How we did it
We began by building a sturdy frame to form the foundation of the curved wall. The next step was adding layers of double gypsum board, meticulously applied by hand to achieve a seamless, high-quality finish. Using a custom tool, we ensured the curvature was perfectly consistent across the entire wall. After carefully sanding away any imperfections, we applied a durable coating to complete the infinity wall.

Setup and props
With the pristine white studio as the starting point, we worked closely with Miro’s video team to plan for flexible setups using various props. The studio includes chairs and tables that can be easily brought into frame for interviews or presentations. Some objects were even rendered in 3D for use in videos, adding extra dynamism and visual appeal.

The flexible design allows Miro to produce all kinds of content, from webinars and explainer videos to instructional guides and interviews. The infinite white background also makes it much easier to incorporate picture-in-picture elements seamlessly.

The result
Miro’s new video studio empowers their team to consistently produce high-quality content that aligns perfectly with their brand. The infinite white space mirrors the limitless nature of their software’s canvas, forging a powerful visual link between their product and their content. Want to see it in action?
