A consistent cooking experience: the AirFryer studio

How do you ensure professional, high-quality cooking videos when the chef is filming solo in a small kitchen? Versuni (Philips Domestic Appliances) faced this challenge: inconsistent content quality depending on where and how videos were produced. The solution? A custom-built cooking studio that empowers the chef to independently create high-quality videos. With smart technical solutions and efficient design, we transformed a compact space into a versatile studio for recipe videos, tutorials, and live streams. The result? A consistent, professional look aligned with the Philips brand—and a growing content team to match the expanded possibilities. Curious about how we achieved this and what we can do for your business? Philips AirFryer

The challenge
Versuni reaches a wide audience with their recipes and product videos. However, they faced inconsistent video quality. Shoots at professional locations like Coolblue delivered polished results, while solo productions in the chef’s kitchen lacked the same standard. This disparity didn’t align with the Philips brand’s premium reputation.

Our approach
To ensure consistent, professional, and recognizable content, we designed a custom studio where the chef could independently produce videos. Together, we decided to focus on AirFryer cooking videos, while other products like vacuum cleaners could be featured in a second studio at a later stage.

The design
Despite space limitations—such as a ceiling height of just 2.2 meters—we crafted a smart design to accommodate recipe videos, explainers, and live streaming cooking shows. Key priorities included simplicity and self-sufficiency. We implemented a three-camera setup, with room for future upgrades, and integrated live-streaming technology that allows the chef to switch cameras in real-time. The system also supports recordings for post-production editing.

Decor and functionality
We built a back wall featuring a window with lighting that simulates a sunny garden, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere. The fully equipped kitchen allows for seamless transitions between filming and real cooking tasks, such as rinsing a plate or grabbing a chopping board.

To keep the setup functional, we hid the control panel under the workbench and covered it with a protective layer, ensuring the chef can operate it even with messy hands. The result? The chef stays in their creative flow while maintaining full control of the shoot.

For branding consistency, we selected a light blue color palette, mirroring Philips’ signature aesthetic. A movable cart stocked with props and utensils offers endless possibilities for varied setups, keeping the videos dynamic and engaging.

Training for consistency
To ensure long-term success, we provided training on operating the equipment, on-camera presence, and delivery. A clear script for different video formats ensures a unified and high-quality presentation. Even if another team member steps in, the system is straightforward enough to maintain the same standards.

The success of the studio
Within two months, the scope of work expanded: the team grew from one to three members, increasing production capacity. This growth highlighted the importance of our flexible design.

Flexibility built in
Adaptability is critical in every project. As we’ve seen with many clients, successful studios often inspire new ideas, additional goals, and expanded teams. That’s why we prioritize long-term collaboration, offering support through Service Level Agreements (SLAs). These allow us to provide strategic input, assist with one-off events, or offer operational support, such as video editing or supplying crew members.
